16 Economic Differences Cities in the Northeast (like Detroit) are losing jobs. While cities in the South (like Houston) are gaining jobs. Moving away from Detroit...Moving to Houston Detroit’s Economy Unemployment = 29% Household Income = $29,109 Pop. 18 Create a Migration Story - Assignment Part 1: Detroit - Draw a cartoon of a person living in Detroit. - Include at least 4 push factors that will contribute to his/her migration to the US. Part 2: Houston - Draw the same person living in his/her new home in Houston - Include at least 2 pull factors that brought him/her to Houston. Part 3: Create a plan to deal with all of the migration coming to Houston –What are three things that Houston will need to deal with all of the migration? (What problems will occur? Think about services)
