15 2010-11 STAAR EOC World Geography and US History Field Test District Results World Geography: Average number of questions answered correctly: 40 out of 68 Average range of correct answers through the four Reporting Categories: 56% - 62% Lowest performance on Reporting Category 1 – History, Government and Citizenship U.S. History: Average number of questions answered correctly: 30 out of 68 Average range of correct answers through the four Reporting Categories: 40% - 47% Lowest performance on Reporting Category 3 – Government and Citizenship 2011-12 School Year Challenges Ahead! TEA will determine passing standards for HS STAAR EOC in the Spring of 2012; Passing standards for Grades 3-8 STAAR will be set in the Fall of 2012.

16 New District Short-Cycle Assessments (SCAs) and MoY Benchmarks MoY Benchmarks Grade 8, World Geo, World History, and U.S. History Two MOYs during the year: MOY 1 covers content from Weeks 1 through 12. Administration windows: High School : Nov. 7 – 10 Middle School : Nov. 14 – Dec. 9 MOY 2 covers content from: Weeks 1-22 for Middle School Weeks 1-25 for High School Administration windows: Middle School : Feb. 13 – Mar. 2 High School : March 7 – 23 Short Cycle Assessments Grades 6-11 Associate Superintendents determine which campuses are required to take these Two per grading period – Alignment to specific units in grading period 6 to 8 questions per SCA 2011-12 School Year Calendars sent by Schools Office to principals and is also available on the Social Studies website.
