Bismuth got it’s name from the German word “wissmuth” meaning white mass.

Bismuth is a white, crystalline, brittle metal with a pinkish tint.
It is the most diamagnetic of all metals.
It’s thermal conductivity is lower than any metal except for mercury.

4. Nature?
Bismuth is mainly mined in Bolivia, Peru, Japan, Mexico and Canada.
Used in the U.S as a by-product of lead and copper smelting.
Bismuth is made in the Earth’s crust.
It is found naturally as a metal.
Bismuth is more abundant than gold.

5. Chemicals?
Bismuth mostly contains Bismuthinite Bi2S3 and Bismite Bi2O3.
Normally used in Pharmacy products and fuses as well as fire detection systems and fire sprinklers.
