3 Introduction Mexican farming sector characteristics  Highly technified producers' minority sector with international levels of competitiveness.  Most are medium and small producers for the domestic market and/or to cover their own family needs.  Use of farming production and trade information by highly competitive sector.  Lack of information use culture to support the decision making among producers with few surpluses or self-consumption.
