Introduction Mexican farming sector characteristics Highly technified producers' minority sector with international levels of competitiveness. Most are medium and small producers for the domestic market and/or to cover their own family needs. Use of farming production and trade information by highly competitive sector. Lack of information use culture to support the decision making among producers with few surpluses or self-consumption.

Nowadays Mexico is one of the countries with more commercial agreements in the world. Information consult has to become necessary for producers and authorities, in order to improve the design of strategies devoted to the sector’s development. 1. Objectives To rely in a flexible information system in order to train and enable all members who participate in each agrifood chain to handle it. To support their correct decision making and planning activities. To integrate the infrastructure of hardware, database software, equipment and systems to guarantee the information systems availability and accessibility. 1.
