Tasks 1. Awareness of youth problems. 2. Seeking of reduction of the burden of youth problems. 3. Attraction of the adults on of the support of youth problems. 4. Finding resources of solving these problems.

Youth is a very important period in the life of man. This is the time when a person discovers the world and tries to determine the place in the universe. Young people face lots of problems which are very important for them and do not differ much from those that once their parents had to deal with. At the same time every generation is unique. It differs from the one that preceded it in its experience, ideals and a system of values.

Generation Gap: Reality or a Psychological Prejudice.

So what does a generation gap mean? It is a popular term used to describe big differences between people of a younger generation and their elders. This can be defined as occurring when older and younger people do not understand each other because of their different experiences, opinions, habits and behavior. The term first came into prominence in Western countries during the 1960 and described the cultural differences between the baby Boomers and their parents. Although some generational differences have existed throughout history.

Those who choose another way are in the state of a conflict because they can’t control their emotions. Such “hot” boys often organize groups against others & conflicts become more serious. They dictate their own rules to everybody.

Stop it before it is too late.

cigarettes don't make you relaxed; in fact, smoking actually speeds up your heart rate you might think that you'll give up when you're a bit older, but the longer you carry on smoking, the harder it will be to quit the only way smoking makes you look older is by giving you wrinkles at an early age.

Subculture is any group within a larger complex culture who has interests that are different from those of the dominant culture. Subculture is a group with a distinct style and identity. Different subcultures have their own beliefs, value systems, fashion and favorite music.

Emo PunksRavers Biker GothSkinheads Hippies Every young person has his own point of view on his life and future. Teenagers are self- confident, like risking. So all of them want to try everything in the life, to grow up as soon as possible.

Church-based Boys` Brigade Boy Scouts Girl Guide Association Blackshirts Teddy Boys Mods Rockers Skinheads Hippies Punks rockers Hackers All youth organizations can be divided into three large groups: Non-political organizations; Youth organizations associated with political parties; Youth organizations controlled by religious bodies. Youth Movements

PUNKS Young people who dress in a shocking way to express their identity. They have brightly colored hair and wear metal chains. They are rebelling (protesting) against society or the older generation. Their music is aggressive. They reject (say «no» to) everything. Many well established fashion designers – such as Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gautier – have used punk fashion in their creations.

HIPPIES Sometimes these people are as classified as drug takers and rock- and roll fans since their behaviour and attitudes differ from current social norms. They want to change the world for the better. Their slogan is: «Make love, not war». They choose brightly- coloured clothing. Both men and women wear jeans and long hair/ the favourite accessories are Native American jevellery, head scarves and long necklaces. Today`s hippies are more socially active, joining charity projects

Ravers. These are young people who use computer-made, synthesized music and drugs to create massive all night dance parties in empty warehouses. They like to participate in a collective. They want to try out all sorts of options and are thought to be violent and rebellious.

BIKERS The bike subculture appeared in Russia with the coming of the Moscow motorbike club «Night Wolves». Officially it was founded on May 31, 1989. They are the ones who ride two – or sometimes three – wheeled, motorized vehicles and who identify themselves with a special subculture. They usually wear leather jackets and army boots. Some people think that they are aggressive because of their threatening appearance. Bikers in Russia prefer to ride heavy bikes like Harley Davidsons.

This group are extremely nationalistic, aggressive, and violent. They don`t conform to social norms; they reject everything. They wear tight trousers and heavy boots and often shave their heads. They are football fans, yet interested in politics. Skinheads in Russia hate teens who prefer rap music because rap is mostly sung by black musicians. Skinheads.

EMO Emo is a subculture characterized by a dark way of dressing, and a cynical view of the world. They tend to be quick to view a situation as hopeless, the term «Emo» comes from the English word «emotion» and it translates as emotional. Emo music is characterized by strong emotions of the vocalist and chaotic music. They dress up in a similar way to the punks and Goths. Characteristic are the long, slanting bangs covering their face, tousled hair dye mostly in black, pale makeup, with strongly highlighted eyes. They wear pants tubes, old sneakers and T-shirts with beloved bands. Favorite color is bleak, of course, but also purple, red and pink. It is a necessity to have painted nails.

HACKERS work and can do things with them that seem “magical”. They spend hours with computers and it causes many diseases. An international group of psychologists has recently suggested that internet addict should be treated in the same way as alcoholics and drug addicts. Hackers are the wizards” of the computer people with a deep understanding of how the computers

Most Goths become Goths because they have been spurned by 'normal' society because the way they want to live their lives does not fit in with how most people are told to live theirs. Goths are free thinkers, people who do not accept the moral rules of society. Many stereotypes of Goths exist these days. It seems everyone has their own way to define 'what is Goth'. From the stereotypes based on clothing to music right up to the stereotypes of all Goths being Satanists. Categorically, all of these are false. Goths

To achieve something in life To solve own problems To protect against the parents To differ from others To conform to society standards REASONS OF JOINING

drug and alcohol addiction communication with friends self-expression special way of life common interests changing the world to the best new styles of music shocking look bad image rebellion against the society rejection of everything protest against the parents teens’ violence and aggressiveness positive negative

Conclusion Every society does have a serious problem. It is not the problem of the younger generation but the society itself. Some communities have such a culture that children cannot find a solace in their friend of family and their heads are being filled with violent pictures they have seen on TV. "Filtering software" is proposed to be installed to block violence that flows across the Internet. But some parents think that focus should be made on home and public organizations. They suggest developing such a curriculum both at schools and colleges that would teach youngsters ethics and construct within their minds and hearts an impenetrable shield against the influence of mass media and mean streets.

Solution We think that the only way to solve the problems should be tolerant and patient. There are very popular sources of information which influence the young people: TV, radio, Internet, newspapers, magazines. It is difficult for young people to decide what is right and what is false. The role of the old people is to help them to find out the proper way.
