The logo has recieved harsh criticism and is most commonly described as a “joke”, “disaster”, “puerile mess”, “commercial scandal” and “kid’s competition entry”.
Design guru Stephen Bayley has said: "There are 5,000 talented designers who could have done the job for £10,000."

The Games are privately funded by sponsors like Adidas, British Airways, YouTube, BT, EDF Energy and others
Building the venues and infrastructure is met largely by public money:
1. 64% from Central Government
2. 23% from National Lottery
3. 13% from the Mayor of London and the London Development Agency
Because of the economical turndown taking place in the world right now, big British companies are in bad state and some of them, like British Petroleum and British Airwaves may back down from the sponsorship and that can be a serious problem to the organizers.
