9 Safety is important to …
Consumers Governments Manufacturers Consumers regularly look for vehicle safety information before making their purchase decision J.D. Power lists safety as the most desired aspect of vehicle features Safety awareness levels increasing along with aging U.S. population NHTSA NPRM for ESC NHTSA side impact protection (FMVSS214) Occupant sensing (FMVSS208) TREAD Act - tire pressure monitoring and rollover testing Fuel economy Pedestrian protection Safety products and features help differentiate vehicles Adopting voluntary safety standards in response to market demand and regulatory trends Advertising and marketing heavily focused on safety message SHOPPING FOR A SAFER CAR If you're like most people shopping for a new car, safety ranks high among your purchase considerations. Every new passenger vehicle must meet federal standards specifying minimum safety levels, but this doesn't mean all cars are equally safe. There still are important safety differences… (Insurance Institute For Highway Safety)

23 TRW Automotive - RF Products
Step 1: Sensors installed in each wheel measure temperature and pressure at regular intervals. Step 2: Sensors transfer information by radio frequency signal to an electronic control unit located inside vehicle. Step 4: Via an existing dashboard display, the driver is warned in real time of any critical deviations from normal conditions. Step 3: Electronic control unit analyzes data it receives. Initiators monitor sensors as needed to rapidly confirm possible warnings and to ensure that accurate information is sent to driver.
