14
British traditions The traditional “British Breakfast” is milk with cereals, then bacon and eggs, sausages and tomatoes and finally toast with marmelade or jam. These days, people don’t always have the time to eat all of that, so they usually have just cereals with milk and toast. And, of course, a large mug of tea or coffee - usually with milk.
15
The British usually have lunch between 12 (noon) and 1 p.m. Lunch is not a big meal in Britain. Many children have lunch at school; many adults eat lunch at work. The British eat their evening meal at any time from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. They call it “supper” or “dinner”. There is often a pudding or cake with this meal - and tea or coffee. Do you find any differences between Britain and Italy? Discuss with your class.
