Road Safety Challenges In the Next Five Years Understanding changing casualties: KSIs are down overall but there has been a recent increase in cyclists and pedestrian KSIs Slight injuries have increased for cyclists, pedestrians and Powered Two Wheelers Long Term Predicted growth in walking and cycling Limited capacity on the Road Network Growing Population – 1 million more people by 2025 Funding – both centrally and at a local level

Commit to and improve London’s safety camera network Learn from others’ good practice Campaign for innovation and improvements in vehicle design Continue making good data available to all Invest in London’s roads to make them safer Better collaboration with external organisations Actively promote best practice Research to improve policy Lobby Government to allow new engineering solutions Data-led marketing campaigns London’s Draft Road Safety Action Plan
