For example, whatever we do and wherever we go English has become one of the most essential language of communication throughout the world. Therefore, we would like to learn how to read, write and speak English. If we do not know how to speak English, we feel out of place in the society”.

Powerpoint TemplatesPage 4 For the nuns to continue upholding their essential role integrated in communities, we need to provide a well rounded education and learning opportunities in addition to their daily Buddhist studies. Learning basic life skills and English language will help them in connecting with the outside world and will give them the confidence to help others in communities around them.

Powerpoint TemplatesPage 6 Proposal: Establish a relevant English language curriculum for the nunneries Hire an experienced teacher (preferably a retired female teacher/s) who will develop units and rotate between nunneries and teach the nuns with relevant life skills and English language in an integrated manner (e.g. 1 months at a time, 3 hours per day 5 days per week, for one thematic unit such as healthy mind and heart)

Ask the students what the intellectual mind does and how it is important to connect with the heart. Divide the students in small groups and let them brainstorm about the difference between the mind and the heart and have them share what they think to the big group. Guide them to understand that it is important to balance both intellectual mind and the emotional feelings that comes from heart. Let them understand the consequences of mind not connecting with the heart breads to arrogant).

Let the students think whether it is the mind that demands or the heart. Mindful meditations- Have the students meditate on what we need and want. Have the students do meditations on someone with whom you have difficulties. Do you forgive with your mind or heart.

Talk about how motivation matters regardless of the size of the offerings we make. As a result, they can maintain a flower garden. Have the students make cards with the flowers they have grown and sell them.
