2 教学内容: 人教新课标英语必修 4 Unit3 A Taste of English Humour Warming up and Reading and Comprehending: A Master of Nonverbal Humour 幽默能给人们带来乐趣,幽默能给人们带来享受,幽默 还能带给人们深思 —— 幽默是生活中的有益要素。本单 元就以 “ 品尝英语幽默 ” 为主题,让人领略到不同的文化 背景下的英语幽默,同时,也让人认识到因为文化的差 异,人们对同一个幽默的理解也会有所不同。通过本课 的学习,不单单是在语言知识上有所收益,还鼓励了学 生发掘,感受生活中的幽默,保持一种活泼乐观的生活 态度,让生活更轻松、更美好。

3 教学目标: 1.Emotion aim : 通过介绍各种形式的幽默,培养学生 的幽默感,引导学生分析卓别林的性格特征以及他 成功的决定因素,从而在学生头脑中塑造出一个勤 奋,乐观,坚忍不拔的形象,潜移默化中影响学生 形成正确积极向上的人生观。 2. Ability aim: 进一步提高学生阅读时猜测 ( guessing ),略读( skimming ),归纳 ( summarizing )的能力。 3.Knowledge aim: 感知本课出现的生词短语句型。

5 教学工具: the multimedia and other teaching tools  教学步骤:  Step1.warming up Purpose: To lead Ss to the topic of this unit through the questions on P17. To make Ss to be aware of the differences in humour. 1. Ask Ss to discuss the following questions and present their answers. (1) Do you think the story we listened just now is a humour? (2) How many kinds of humour do you know? 2. Divide Ss into four groups and ask them to talk about the pictures and finish Ex2 of Warming Up on P17 to see which group knows the most about humour.

6 Step2 : pre-reading ask something about Charlie Chaplin Step 3. Fast reading Purpose: To get a brief understanding of the text. To train Ss’ ability of guessing the meaning of words according to the context. Ask Ss if they have known something about humour, esp. English humour, and then ask Ss to read the text quickly and try to get a general idea of the whole passage. Suggested Answer: The whole text introduces a world-famous actor---Charlie Chaplie and his excellent performances, making us understand more about nonverbal humour. Step 4. Intensive reading Purpose: To get the basic structure of the text. To get Some details of the text. Ask Ss to read the text carefully and get the clue of the text and try to finish the following form.

He was born in a poor family in 1889.His famous character is “the little tramp”,a poor and homeless man,but everybody loved him for his optimism and the way he dealt with his difficult situation.He made people laugh at some terrible situations like being without food or money.He wrote and directed his own films and received an Oscar for his outstanding work.
