2 Synopsis Significant points to note During open interviews with students across the academy the overwhelming majority 97% reported feeling safe, happy and confident in school. During Parent/carer telephone consultation across the academy every parent/carer 100% reported that they knew what to do if their child was being bullied and were confident that Trinity listens to its students. 99% stated that the school keeps parent/carers informed regarding bullying & acts upon any issues. Immediate areas for improvement The lower academy reported that 22 students stated that they had been bullied a little. Each student has been confidentially interviewed to dig deeper into this concern The upper academy requires an improvement in participation – Pastoral staff to begin collating information for 2016 report prior to National anti-bullying week in November. 2Anti-Bullying Report - Spring 2015

3 Spring 2015 Anti-Bullying Headlines Whole School This years report showed a 14% increase in student participation from last year. With reference to the question “have you been bullied in the last 12months” 72% stated no. 96% of students stated they felt safe at school. The response from students to the question, ‘do school do anything to mark anti-bullying week’, 94% stated they do. 93% of students stated that school listens to their opinions. The overall majority of students 94% stated that school is a caring and happy place. 99% of students stated they felt safe at break times, (playground work). Parent responses. 100% of parents stated they knew what to do if there child was bullied. 100% of parents stated they were confident that school listens to their child. 99% of parents stated that school keeps them informed, regarding bullying and that they act on any issues. 97% of parents stated that school takes bullying seriously. 96% of parents stated that school act on bullying issues and what they do to address it works. 94% of parents stated they received a copy of the schools anti-bullying policy. 63 % of parents stated they had been involved with the consultation of the anti bullying policy. 10% of parents stated that their child had been bullied at school. All of them referenced verbal bullying was the concern. All 10% stated they informed school staff, and the action taken by school worked and stopped the bullying. 3Anti-Bullying Report - Spring 2015

An overall major of students stated they had not been involved with bullying. 88% of students also stated that they have not been bullied in the last 12 months, of the 12% that stated they had, all of them referenced that it was addressed and the bullying stopped. 6 Comparing Whole School Data Over the Years This year there is a14% rise in participation of students with the survey compared to last year, and a 16% rise from 2012-13. On the Deneview site,there is a 46% increase in students completing the survey, compared to last year. At Oakfield there is a 16% rise in participation compared to 2012-13. In 2012-13, 90% of students stated they felt safe at school. This year 2014-15, 97% of students stated that they felt safe at school. In 2012-13, 78% of students stated that school is a happy and caring place. This year 2014-15, 94% of students stated that the school is a happy and caring place. 7 Actions Deneview Site Immediate areas to reflect. 65% of students stated that they have been involved with consultation of the school’s Anti bullying policy. ( Student council tutor classes, to focus on consultation with policy beginning of Autumn term 2015, in time for review of policy November 2015, to achieve better response. Target 85%). 22 students referenced they had been bullied a little, in the last 12 months 74% stated it was verbal. Of this sample 89% referenced that they passed it on to staff or parents. (Staff have now had the comprehensive anti-bullying training, to address this, also this area will be targeted within PSHE, Citizenship and tutorials, focusing on,’What to do about Bullying’ with immediate affect). Deneview, School staff have continuously monitored the situation. Follow up Interviews with these students took place March 2015 all 22 students, 100% stated that the issues had ended and that the bullying stopped or had been a conflict and was now not perceived to be a bullying situation. Monitoring to continue. Oakfield Site Immediate arears to reflect. 74 % Of students on role completed the survey this year. ( Pastoral staff to begin collating questionnaires, October 2015 as well as anti bullying week, November 2015, to achieve better response. Target 85%). Suggested interventions, whole school. Anti-bullying issues to be put on pastoral meeting agenda. Anti-bullying issues to be incorporated within pastoral performance management sessions. National award in recognition of Anti-bullying, to be achieved for Trinity academy. (Plan to provide Trinity academy with a national recognized award in Anti-bullying with ABQM-uk. Initial target silver award, gold award by July 2017). Fortnightly meetings to continue for Pastoral managers to review recent incidents of bullying and reflect on our on-going practice with a strong aim of preventing future incidents occurring wherever possible. Robust training and awareness of Anti Bullying in school is currently being undertaken. A policy review has been conducted to reflect these changes in approach to identifying, recording and highlighting bullying in school. Parents to be supplied with anti bullying policy, via website or paper copy at the beginning of Autumn term 2015, booklet supplied asking for comments or amendments.
