2 Today we will determine the rule of a Linear Equations Graph = a visual of a set of ordered pairs on a grid

4 The Rule of Linear Equation Is the relationship between the two variables in an equation Example: y = x + 2

5 Why is this important? You can use this to solve real life problems (For example, when you are adding and subtracting from your bank account constantly) This will help you with algebra You HAVE to know algebra to get into college.

Make sure the rule applies to all ordered pairs 4. Write the rule for identifying Y 1 2 3 6 7 8 ( 2, 7) ( 3, 8) ( 1, 6) ( 2, 7) ( 3, 8) x 6 + 5 Y = x + 5
