22. Respiratory System *Lungs – pair of organs that put oxygen in the body. *Trachea – air travels through this organ from the mouth to the lungs. *The respiratory system is in charge of the gas exchange between the blood and the environment.

25. * What do you need to know about the digestive system? Esophagus:Esophagus: The tube food travels through from the mouth to the stomach. Stomach:Stomach: Releases acid to break down food more so that the body can use the food’s energy. Small Intestine:Small Intestine: Absorbs the energy in food and gives it to the blood to carry to other body parts. Large Intestine:Large Intestine: Absorbs water from undigested food and pumps the waste out of the body. Pancreas:Pancreas: Helps with food digestion and makes a chemical to digest sugar. Gallbladder:Gallbladder: Stores and releases bile (a chemical that helps digest food) made by the liver. Liver:Liver: Removes harmful substances from the bloodstream and helps with digestion.
