4 SKILLS in conclusions, selective and option choice questions you must follow the same pattern 3 paragraphs each starts with what you noticed in your own words then support this with 2 pieces of evidence evidence from every source must be used at least once by the end of your entire answer

5 Conclusions (8 skills) testing you can spot patterns from evidence then support it with quotes/ numbers

6 Conclusions (8 skills) read the question and bullet points
highlight bullet points/ write no 1,2,3 next to each one now find any evidence that matches bullet 1 - highlight it/ write no 1 next to it look at the evidence what can you say about bullet no 1?

7 Conclusions (8 skills) one conclusion about (copy bullet 1)...
repeat this yourself for bullet 2 and 3. You have 11 minutes one conclusion about (copy bullet 1)... is... (what did you notice in your own words, no evidence!) I know this as source 1 says “...copy highlighted evidence...” also source 2/3 says “....copy highlighted evidence...”

8 Selective (8 skills) testing you can understand when people are not lying (not selective) and when they are lying (selective) and prove it with evidence

9 Selective (8 skills) read the statement and highlight key words in it
highlight anything in the sources that support/ show the statement is true/ not selective in another colour highlight anything that opposes/shows the statement is false / selective

10 selective (8 skills) (...name...) is not selective when he says
repeat this yourself for the selective and last paragraph. You have 11 minutes (...name...) is not selective when he says (...copy statement...) because ...own reason why he is not lying/ you support him i know this because source 1 says ...copy highlighted evidence... also source 2/3 says ...copy highlighted evidence

11 Option Choice (10 skills)
testing you can argue for a decision supported by facts and that you can anticipate what your rivals will say against you

12 option choice (10 skills)
read the 2 options at the top. pick one highlight any evidence in the sources that suggest this option is a good idea look at your highlighted evidence. find 3 different arguments for your option within the highlights start writing your answer

13 option choice (10 skills)
repeat this yourself for the 2nd and 3rd argument for your option. You have 10 minutes I choose option 1 because...(own reason...) I know this as source 1 says... Also source 2/3 says... repeat the above for argument 2 and argument 3 I did not choose option 2 even though some will say...(their own reason for option 2...) I know this as source 3 says...(evidence to support option 2) Option 1 is still better because source 1/2/3 says...

14 PEES F-World Issues. Terrorism
always start your answer with the world issue I have studied is terrorism. 1 min per mark for PEES PEES F-World Issues. Terrorism

15 P E E writing frame Point (state a cause/consequence/response)
Explain (answer the q in as much detail as possible, explain why things happen) Example (a statistic/true place/ person/ party/ fact)

16 Terrorism What can I be asked?
causes (last years exam) consequences responses responses with force peaceful responses (last years exam) human rights abuse responses abuse human rights score out ‘world issue’ on your exam paper. write terrorism then re read the question

17 Explain the consequences of a world issue you have studied (6)
terrorism political - increased security/ deciding to go to war social - injury and death / islamophobia economic - cost of war / cost of repairing damage The world issue I have studied is terrorism (P) One political consequence of terrorism is deciding to increase security in a country. (E) This means to protect itself from future attacks a government improves airport and public transport safety and the police force. (E) For example airports in the USA like JFK use fingerprint scans, iris scans and 3d body scans

18 Describe the responses to a world issue you have studied (4)
terrorism killing terrorists drones NATO ISAF - training Afghan police war on terror armed police in airports/ public events Guantanamo bay UN cooperation EU border checks peaceful marches increased airport security The world issue I have studied is terrorism (P) One response to terrorism is killing key terrorist figures. (E) This reduces terrorism as it disrupts terrorists plans, scares other members of the group and removes the leader and main conspirator. (E) For example the US Navy Seals killed Osama Bin Laden, Al Qaeda leader in 2011

19 Explain why a world issue you have studied is an abuse of human rights
terrorism The world issue I have studied is terrorism (P) One reason terrorism is an abuse of human rights is it takes away the right to life. (E) This is because terrorists murder innocent people for a nationalist, religious or financial cause in hijackings. Other innocent people are killed in the aftermath of bombs. (E) For example Al Qaeda killed 3000 people in 9/11 right to life freedom from torture freedom of religion right to education right to choose who you marry
