Family life: Poor family with 7 kids Married: December 25, to Mary Silwell and had 3 kids Born: February 11, 1847 and died October 18, 1931 Thomas Edison was born in Milian Ohio, and grew up in Michigan. He was the youngest of seven. He was of Dutch ancestry. He did not do good in school and ended up dropping out. He was partially deaf an had scarlet fever when he was young. He was homeschooled and read a lot of philosophy books. Married: December 25, to Mary Silwelland had 3 kids

He created the light bulb and organized and created electric-power generation and distribution to homes, businesses, and factories Some of his inventions are the light bulb, stock ticker, a mechanical vote recorder, a battery for an electric car, electrical power, typewritting machine, recorded music and motion pictures. In 1879 the first light bulb was created and only lasted 40 hours. Picture of a phonograph above that was his first invention in 1877 and got $40,00 for it.

Thomas Edison died of complications of diabetes on October 18, 1931 His wife Mina died in 1947.and left 3 kids behind He was rated the 35th out of 100 for the most influencel person In American history when he died, his estate was estimated at well over $12 million His estate included shares of Thomas A. Edison, Inc. valued at more than $10 million, $1,342,000 in United States bonds, $48,000 in railroad bonds, $48,000 in cash, and 76,000 shares in 37 different companies that no longer exist.
