1. Fashion and Technology 1910-20 Alyssa Kuhlwein

2. The above sketch features women who are wearing a popular dress style in the 1910s. Hair was usually worn up in braids or curls. The women above are wearing very popular fashion trends. Many women of the time wore hats. Another trend that is featured in the picture above is curved- heel shoes.

3. Men in the 1910s wore clothes that would be considered “fancy” to modern standards. Top hats and long coats were worn as everyday attire. The picture to the left features London men in 1912. They all wore trousers and some carried walking sticks.

4. The car above is a 1910 model t car from Ford. These automobiles were hugely popular amongst Americans during this time period. In Distant Waves, a couple was driving a car like this one. (pg. 60,61)

5. Electricity and telephones were used in this time period. Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, was still alive and inventing in the 1910s!
