Single text box using dedicated text search engine (Microsoft’s FAST) to search multiple fields such as (un)abbreviated names, aliases, source, hierarchy name,– with associated functions – misspellings & natural language equivalents Order influenced by closeness of word match (text engine score) and editorial input (key indicators) as well as Filtering options for key fields to narrow down search results Preview pane for a series displays detailed information including latest value and date, source, notes – with a chart offering different transforms and periods Links to see the related series in the explorer hierarchies WHAT OTHER CHANGES WERE IN THIS VERSION? Time series data for the initial release, first and second revisions for the indicators. Ability to produce a vintage snapshot for an indicator. Allowing users to view.. 65 Datastream for Office (DF0) 64 bit WHAT IS IT? Next generation Datastream add in. Built on.NET (rather than VB/Active X) and 64bit MS Office (2010) compatible WHO IS IT INITIALLY FOR? Clients moving to Excel 2010 64 bit (not supported by AFO) - Note Office 2003 not supported New Datastream (Direct) clients – who cannot access Port 23 BENEFITS TO CLIENTS? Lighter install – to ship with Datastream Direct Uses standard communications – –access via Port 80/http (rather than Port 23/telnet) –requiring no IP registration –uses Datastream child IDs –does not use DSGATE Requests held in Excel using formulas (rather than ActiveX) – offering greater user familiarity, and compatibility More use browser based interfaces (can be upgraded without a re-install) – new expression builder with new list builder planned for 2nd release.

66 Two 12 month forward measures for Datastream’s Indices (based in IBES data) WHAT ARE THEY FOR? To facilitate sector-to-sector and stock-to-market comparisons on a national, regional and worldwide basis. WHAT ARE THEY? This release includes 12 month forward Earnings Per Share along with the 12 month forward Price/Earnings ratio. The datatypes and calculations are as follows, based on underlying equity level consensus data: –Earnings/Share (DIEP) (sum F1FD12*IBNOSH)/sum IBNOSH –P/E Ratio (DIPE) (sum IBNOSH*IBP) /(sum F1FD12*IBNOSH) Where –F1FD12 is I/B/E/S 12 month forward EPS estimate; –IBNOSH is I/B/E/S number of shares; –IBP is I/B/E/S price. WHAT ARE THE FUTURE PLANS? Provide these for other measures – Sales, EBIT, etc Add support for these to the User Created Index (UCI) facilities
