3 A Greek war ship was called a galley. A bireme had 2 rows of oars men but a trireme has 3 rows of oars men. In a war Greek soldiers stood on the deck and fought. Galleys had a ram at the front of the ship to crash into other ships and destroy there hull at war

4 THE ROMAN SHIP

5 A roman ship had 2 types of ships. The quadriremes which had for banks of oars and quinqueremes had 5 banks of oars. Like the Greeks they used rams to destroy other ships and to smash there hull.

6 THE VIKING SHIP

7 WHAT ABOUT THE VIKING SHIP The key strategy for the Vikings was to attack without sense and almost always lost. Vikings were brutal and almost always losing. A Viking ship had a figure head to scare opposing ships away. A Viking's main weapons were a battleaxe and a long sword. Wealthier warriors wore a helmet and a shirt of linked ironings.
