3 What is Physiotherapy? Helps restore movement, function and wellbeing to as near normal as possible following injury, illness or developmental or disability. Science-based, committed to applying, evaluating and reviewing the underpinning evidence Clinical reasoning and interpretation of evidence is at it’s core

7 Course Overview 3-year, highly integrated and focused course Shared learning with other Allied Health Professionals 3 core areas: Cardiorespiratory, Neurology and Musculoskeletal Clinical placements Theory Practical skills

11 Clinical Placements Placements across Devon & Cornwall You WILL have placements away from Plymouth, therefore: – Need for travel, or – Need for second accommodation

12 Practice/Clinical Placements Must complete a minimum of 1000 hours of assessed clinical practice Supervised and assessed by experienced Physiotherapists Means-tested NHS bursaries – travel & accommodation for placements – Visit our funding for Health Students talk for more info

20 Strong GCSE profile, or equivalent: – 5 grades C or above – must include English, Maths and Science 340 points A level, or equivalent – at least 100 points in Biology – preference will be given to applicants with science based qualifications Access to higher education diploma 45 credits at level 3 including 15 biology credits

21 Personal Statement Demonstrate an interest and knowledge for the profession Evidence of related work experience Demonstrate evidence of good communication skills Ability to empathise with others Problem solving and use of initiative
