2 QuinceañerasQuinceañeras This celebration embrace religious customs, and the virtues of family and social responsibility. The Quinceañera tradition celebrates the young girl (la Quinceañera), to recognizes her journey from childhood to maturity. The customs highlight God, family, friends, music, food, and a dance. Baby showers A baby shower is a way to celebrate the pending or recent birth of a child by presenting gifts to the parents at a party.

3 Family Celebrations BBQ (barbeque) BBQ’S are when we gather with the family to make food and have some quality time together. Family Game Night Family Game nights are when families get together to play games such board games like Monopoly. Movie Nights Family movie nights is when families get together to watch movies on a certain day and go to the theaters or stay home and rent movies.

4 In the month September, here at Foshay we proudly embrace the culture of Hispanics by displaying the many flags of Latin countries and with an assembly that showcases Latin music, dancing, and culture. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Every year in January we celebrate Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. School students carry posters with many of his famous sayings and right behind them is the school marching band playing in his honor. School Celebrations

5 Baptism- (Catholic) - When you are forgiven for sins that were passed from Adam and Eve. Basically you are washed in holy water as a baby. Sealing of the covenant made in Holy Baptism, renders the bond with the Church more perfect. Confirmation- (Catholic) - Religious Holidays

6 National Holidays Veterans’ day The celebration of honoring servicemen and women that fought in past wars. New Year’s Eve On December 31 st we countdown the last couple of seconds of the last year and celebrate the new year.
