2 E UCHARIST 1  Christ’s saving presence in our midst  The Passover seder A ritual meal as is the Eucharist meal today  Eucharist Greek word meaning “thanksgiving” We thank God for His Son, Jesus and celebrate Jesus’ gift of himself in the transforming ritual of bread and wine into his body and blood We called this consecration: Transubstantiation “Come to the Banquet of love….”
