3 Parts of the Computer  What is this? Keyboard  What does it do? Types letters, numbers, and symbols into the computer.

4 Parts of the Computer  What is this? Mouse  What does it do? Points and Clicks and enters information into the computer.

5 Typing Position  How should you sit at your computer when typing? In the Spalding Position ○ Sitting Up Straight ○ Your Feet On The Floor Your Monitor At Eye Level Your Keyboard And Monitor In Front Of You Do Not Strain Your Arms, Neck Or Back

9 Computer, cont…  How would you save a copy of your work on the computer if you wanted to save it for a later date? When Closing the program you would Click on “Save” before exiting. You could go to the “Save” icon. You could go to the Office Button and Click it and Click “Save” or “Save As”.

10 Computer, cont…  Which two keys could you use when capitalizing a letter on the keyboard?  How would you insert clip art into a Word Document or a PowerPoint? You would go to the “Insert” Tab, then select “Clip Art” and then enter in the keyword into the “Search” box. Click on the desired picture or photo to insert it into your Word Document or PowerPoint.

12 Library  Name a title of a book you have read that is a fantasy or fake story? (Fiction)  Name the title of a true or real book you have read? (Non-Fiction)

13 Library  What is this? Title Page  What is on the Title page? Title of the Book Author’s Name  Where is it found? In the front of the book.

14 Library  What is this? Table of Contents  What is it used for? It informs you of what subjects are in the book.  Where is it located? In the front of the book.

15 Library  What is this? Index  What is it used for? Find the location of certain subjects in the book.  Where is it located? In the back of the book.

16 Library  What is this? Glossary  What is it used for? It is like a mini dictionary for the highlighted words in the book that you might not know.  Where is it located? In the back of the book.

17 Library  What is an encyclopedia? A book or set of books containing articles on various topics, usually in alphabetical arrangement, covering all branches of knowledge.  In which section of the library would you find an encyclopedia? The Reference Section

18 Library  What kind of book is written about a person by that same person? Autobiography  What kind of book is written about a person by another person? Biography

19 Library  Should you read any book with dirty hands? True or False? FALSE!  It is good to read books when you are eating and drinking? True or False? FALSE

20 Library  You should find good books that you like to read? True or False TRUE!  Reading is FUN! True of False TRUE!
