 The overall cost of the flying aircraft has to be under $250.  The weight of the aircraft has to be less than or equal to 450 grams.  The completed aircraft has to be able to fly for a sustained five minutes.  Cannot use combustion engines.

 The main objective was to design and build a functional aircraft in terms of flying capability.  Other smaller objectives included sustaining the aircraft in the air for at least 5 minutes, keeping the aircraft weight under 450 grams, and the cost of the aircraft being kept to a minimum.

The original design was going to be a multi-rotary helicopter based on the Syma S107-G(Bottom left). After some brainstorming and discussion, we thought it would be better and easier to collaborate with one another if we were to design a fully functional plane based off of the GLWS Slow Stick(Bottom right.)

 At the start of our project, our group thought it would be best to make a helicopter instead of an air plane.  The helicopter would both be easier to fly and easier to make based on the design template we had set out on it based on the Syma S107- G.

 After the period in which we discovered it was difficult to find parts to create a helicopter, we switched over to an airplane based model.  We had decided to use the suggestion provided on the prompting for the project, which was to base the plane off a GWS Slow Stick.  We had wanted to still create something original based off sole appearance design at the very least, so the idea was to put a bird-feathers design skin.  We also had to make a plan on who of each member of the group was going to do what, after losing 2 members from the start of the project.

 In the end we had decided not to use any stickers or bird design tape because of the amount of weight it would add to the plane which would limit foot-lbs power and maneuverability.  Our plans were mainly focused on each of our group members completing their specific tasks in co- ordinance to the project. This would include specifically tasking to plane flight, the final report, and the presentation preparations.

 One of our main obstacles was the lack of time to do the project as a whole based on planning, design, and the construction of the plane.  Another obstacle was learning how to fly the plane, of course we only picked one person to fly the plane, and that would be the act pilot Robert Walsh.

 After a few attempts from our ace pilot, Robert Walsh, the plane’s low durability factor caused several pieces such as the motor, propeller, and elevator to break.  As a result we had gotten several spare propellers, an incredibly powerful motor, and had fixed any damage done to exterior pieces.

 The battery being probably the heaviest part of the aircraft is located directly under the main wing’s frontal end after the fuselage.  This is very important to the direct correlation the battery has on the center of gravity of the plane

 In conclusion, the model is an air plane based off of the GWS Slow Stick modified for terms of center of gravity and slight functionality concerning the propeller, the motor, and the rudder/elevator.  Our model is able to fly with Excellency, it all depends on our ace pilot, Robert Walsh, to keep it in the air for 5 minutes and fly a 2x8.
