5 Aims and Idea of Luxembourg Foresight
Identification of a limited number of national priorities in public research (promising topics with future RTD potential) Identify how public research can address needs and demands of public, business, and society. Idea: Based on the input from Phase I: For each of the 6 fields identified in phase 1, an expert panel will meet twice in phase 2 of the Foresight provide thematic input papers for each workshop prepare and facilitate the workshops provide for the workshops´ output

10 Concept of the Input Papers
The Input Paper gives a state-of-the-art of the thematic field within the national and international context as derived from baseline report and OECD innovation study. It will serve as background documentation for the first set of expert workshops to be held in November and December 2006 (WS_1). 12 Concept of the Interim Report
The Interim report is based on thematic field analyses and results of the first expert workshop WS_1. It gives an overall SWOT analysis for Luxembourg and a ranking of the related priority domains with future potential. It will serve as background documentation for the second set of expert workshops to be held in January and February 2007 (WS_2). Definition and bounding of the domain(s) National and international context Needs and demands of Luxembourg public/business/society SWOT analysis Possible and realistic goals (“vision”) within a 10 years time horizon Tentative prioritisation

15 Expected Outputs in the Final Report
The Final Report will focus the research priorities as derived from the previous work (reports and workshops). It shall integrate the users perspective and the application orientation. (A consolidated version of the interim report will be integrated.)
