80,000 visitors in 10 days Long waiting lines Educate and entertain Let visitors interact with the house Innovation Why Mobile Apps?

Sensors are distributed throughout the house – temperature, relative humidity, motion detector, light level, CO2 level, water consumption, Computer collects data Computer stores data to server (cloud) App retrieves data from server App displays data Project 1 – Monitoring Sensor ComputerServer Mobile App

Sensors are distributed throughout the house – temperature, relative humidity, motion detector, light level, CO2 level, water consumption, Computer collects data Computer stores data to server (cloud) App retrieves data from server App controls actuators – Thermostats, warning devices, blinds Project 2 – Actuation Sensor ComputerServer Mobile App Thermostats Binds

As visitors wait in line, they download app App provides information about: – Background of Solar decathlon team – How the house was designed – How the house was built – Market appeal consideration – Energy consumption – … Project 3 – Education

The house will be built in 9 days The sequence of tasks that need to be performed needs to be identified in real time based on the time need to accomplish tasks Identification of critical path A schedule of the construction of a house is developed. Representation is a network of nodes and edges. If one step (node) in the construction process is delayed, a rescheduling of the remaining components is formed. Project 4 – Task Scheduling

Landscaping app Place selected plants, trees, shrubbery around the existing house viewed through the camera. The purpose is to augment reality by enhancing the landscaping features of a house. Project 5 – 3D Augmented Reality
