Engineering Ambassadors

 Lawrence High graduate of 2008  Sophomore in Industrial Engineering with a Business and Manufacturing minor  Executive member of Engineering Ambassadors

 Applying science and technology to develop new products and solve real-life problems.  5 different Areas of Opportunity: *Research and Development *Design and Construction *Manufacturing and Sales *Service and Operation *Education and Other Professions

 Student Quality- meet with students in your college of interest  Faculty Commitment- student advising, faculty commitment and degrees  Modern Facilities- up to date classrooms, labs, technology  Contact with Industry- research projects, employment, alumni  Level of Research- research being conducted at university

 11 Colleges of Engineering  Architectural- designing any different system for a building  Bio-Ag (Biosystems)- enhancing natural processes, applying engineering principles to living systems such as food energy, plants and animals  Chemical- 1/3 of students go on to grad school and research, others use math and science to make products like fuel, food, medicine, etc.  Civil- anything with structures, such as buildings, bridges, transportation, and waste systems

 Computer- hardware and software, networking systems  Computer Science- design software systems that solve societal problems such as flight control, video games and movies, DNA, life saving drugs  Construction Science- management program designed to produce a professional constructor  Electrical- designing systems that deal with electricity or electronics, microchip technology, wireless communication, digital electronics, conversion, processing of energy

 Industrial- design, analyze, and improve integrated systems, maximizing system productivity, making high quality low-cost products  Information Systems- technical computing, networking, web concepts for business information  Mechanical- design machines and systems for conversion, control, and transfer of energy. Equipment design and manufacturing  Nuclear- design systems that deal with radiation, work in nuclear power plant design and operations

 Architectural- private firms, ex: if they wanted to build a new chiefs stadium, architect designs it, you make sure it is structurally safe.- closely related to construction science  Bio-Ag- Food industry, consulting firms, healthcare facility  Chemical- Pharmaceuticals, Exxon Mobil  Civil- Kansas Department of Transportation, Amazon  Computer- private firms  Computer science- Delta Airlines, any video game maker, pharmaceuticals

 Construction science- construction companies, architecture companies  Electrical- consulting companies, private firms  Industrial- Coca Cola, Spirit Aero, Target, Ford Motor, AT&T, Accenture Consulting  Information systems- Verizon, John Hopkins Physics Lab, Boeing  Mechanical- CISCO, Dow Chemical, Atlas Consulting

 Minors  Leadership  Honors Program  Integrated B.S.-M.S.  WESP  STEP- includes SAS, STEM

 The best way to learn what college is right for you is to schedule a college visit and see for yourself!  http://www.engg.ksu.edu/  Questions?
