17 Halloween : 31st October, the night before All Saints ’ Day( 万圣节 ), was originally New Year ’ s Eve celebrated by the Celts( 克尔特人 ). All Saints’ Day, which falls on 1st November is regarded in the West as a festival. 16

18 Thanksgiving was first celebrated in 1621. The Pilgrims (早期移民) invited Native Americans (印第安人) for a three-day festival in gratitude for ( 庆祝 ) the successful harvest that followed a hard winter.
