2  Murcia is a city in south-eastern Spain  It is the seventh largest city in the country  It has a population of 442,573  It has a long agricultural tradition and as a fruits, vegetables and flowers producer and exporter  It averages more than 300 days of sun per year  This is Murcia’s flag Murcia

3  The Romea Theatre opened the 25 th of October 1862 when Queen Isabel II wittnessed the performance of El Hombe Del Mundo. The leading actor was Julian Romea, after whom the theatre was named later. Romea Theatre

4  The Cathedral was begun building in 1512 and got finished in 1540  The Cathedral is fronted with a golden-tinted coral limestone façade  There is also a treasury which has lots of silver and jewelry in. Cathedral de Santa Maria

5  The museum was dedicated to the famous sculptor Francisco Salzillo.  The museum has various different rooms where you can see large sculptures created by the artist for the Easter week processions.  The Salzillo Crib is also on display: this is an exquisitely delicate work, comprising more than 500 pieces, which evokes rural Murcia of the period. 6  Terra Natura is a new generation wildlife park- a new concept in habitat design which will enable you to come into contact with the animals as if there were no barriers between you. The zoo is divided into four themed groups- Pangea, the entrance to the park, America, Europe and Asia. Terra Natura

7  The Santa Cruz Castle is one of the symbols of the Council of Oleiros.  It is placed on a small island in the Ría of A Coruña which can be reached by a wooden bridge.  Thanks to its high historic value, it has been declared a place of cultural interest. Castle of Santa Cruz

9  This is a salty lagoon in the south-east of Murcia  It is separated from the Mediterranean sea by La Manga, a sandbar 22km in length and with a width ranging from 100 to 1200 m.  It is described as the biggest swimming pool in the world. Mar Menor

10  The football club was founded in 1908  The play at Estadio Nueva Condomina which holds 33,045 spectators.  Home colors are mainly scarlet shirt & white shorts.  They are not playing very well this season! Real Murcia FC

11  The highlight of the Old Town are the splendid baroque buildings around Plaza de España.  The highlights are:  Pósito, a 16th-century former granary  An 18th-century Casa del Corregidor Town Hall.  Lording over the square is the golden limestone Colegiata de San Patricio, a church with a handsome baroque facade and predominantly Renaissance interior.
