7 Name of Museum The Great Pyramid at Giza, also known as the biggest pyramid built in Ancient Egypt, is made out of 2 million stone blocks! The Great Pyramid at Giza was 480 feet tall, but as it aged and started to collapse, it’s now 450 feet tall and the base covers about 13 acres. The Great Pyramid at Giza was built from 2600 B.C. to 2500 B.C. This pyramid was built for the Great Pharaoh Khufu. Most pyramids built for pharaohs had statues or paintings of themselves either inside the pyramid or on the outside. The Ancient Egyptians were an important and advanced civilization because of art and the pyramids. Ancient Egyptians were very artistic, and some artisans helped with the design of the pyramids, and others painted and decorated the inside of them. Introduction Back to Room 1

8 Name of Museum The Great Pyramids help prove Ancient Egypt was a complex civilization in three different ways. One way the pyramids proved this is art. King Tut's mask, Nefertiti's blast, and Ankhs show how skilled artisans were, and how complex they were with their work, design, and tools. These artifacts were complex because of the detail and unique design qualities. A second way this was proven was by the pyramids, the pyramids show how complex Ancient Egyptians had to be to calculate the shape and how many blocks were used to build the pyramids. One last way the pyramids helped prove this was how the pyramids were built. Ancient Egyptians didn't have any technology to build the pyramids, so they used ramps and string to pull the blocks upward and place them on. In conclusion, that’s how the Great Pyramids help prove Ancient Egypt was a complex civilization in three different ways. Body Paragraph Back to Room 2
