He changed his name from Malcolm Little to Malcolm X because he was against slavery He is a black nationalist spokesman for the Nation of Islam Civil Rights Activist Who is Malcolm X?

What did he do? He stood up for the African-Americans Civil Rights He offered an alternative view to the mainstream civil rights movement: establishment of separate black community (rather than integration), and the use of violence in self defense (rather than non-violence) Malcolm X’s speech “The Bullet or The Ballot” is about how blacks should fight for their civil rights

April 3 rd, 1964 Race dominated Americas domestic agenda: This means that one race is becoming more dominant than another race A bill outlawing segregation was up for debate in Congress

Why did Malcolm X do this? He stood up for the Civil Rights for the blacks and his beliefs and that all people are created equal

MY ANSWER Yes, one person can make a difference in a society of 300 million+ people. For example, Malcolm X fought for the African-Americans rights. Martin Luther King Jr. fought to end racial discrimination.
