3. Credit Cards Credit cards can be a great thing and most importantly build your credit. Sadly they can also ruin your credit. When you are young, you can get a credit card with a low limit and use it for small purchases every month that will be paid off every month. Never accept a card just because you have been accepted for one. Never buy more than you could pay for at the end of the month.

4. What are they Good For? Credit cards can build credit. Credit is used to buy bigger things. Some employers will check your credit score before hire you. Credit can be a lot more important than you think and will follow you all of your life.

5. Payments and Earnings Every month, you want for your earnings to be larger than what you spend. There is such thing as being “House Poor” or “Car Poor.” This is how many homes and vehicles are repossessed. Make a list and consider all utilities, taxes, insurance, bills, and food money. You will then know how much you can use for your spending money. Always leave room for emergency money.

6. Create a Spending Chart You make $3,000 a month You will have a car payment, house payment, car insurance, electric, water, trash, cell phone, internet, television, ect. Also consider emergency and grocery money. How much can you spend on each? How much do you have left over?

7. How will you get that Dream Job? Resume Writing Be ready to create your own! Research the job before you apply for it. Practice sample questions for the interview. Tailor your resume to your job. If it doesn’t matter or fit the job description, don’t include it!
