3 W HY DO YOU EAT ? Because your hungry your stomach is rumbling your bored your happy/sad it's lunch time to celebrate to be polite because someone else is eating

4 W HY DO YOU NEED TO EAT ??? The foods you eat provide the energy or fuel your body needs to function known as a calorie How can we compare this to other daily activities/functions?

6 W HAT KIND OF FUEL DOES YOUR BODY NEED ? Carbohydrates - Sugars, Starch, and Fiber Protein Fats Vitamins Minerals

7 C ARBOHYDRATES your body breaks carbohydrates down into glucose glucose is your body's favorite form of energy if your body doesn't get enoughcarbs, it can make glucose from protein and fat if your body get too many carbs, it stores it as fat

8 P ROTEIN is borken down into amino acids amino acids help build and repair your body's cells your muscles require protien to build and function protien also helps your immune system, hormones, nervous system and organs

9 F AT surrounds all the cells of your body signals hormones Helps with abosrption of vitamins A, D, E & K Good fats: monounsaturated polyunsaturated Bad fats: Saturated Trans Fats
