High Bay Operations7 GLAST LAT ProjectMarch 2005 Sine Vibration Test with Modal Survey - continued

High Bay Operations8 GLAST LAT ProjectMarch 2005 Sine Vibration Test with Modal Survey Option - continued Potential Obstacles –LAT Instrument must be lifted over the Ling B335/Kimball vibration table to access test area. Facility-Specific Issues –LAT Instrument must be protected from dust and particles during test –LAT Transport Cart, Lift Fixture and Grid Perimeter Ring can be stored at the entrance of the NRL Vibration Test Facility –Expander-Head and Load Support Frame must be stored adjacent to shaker for lateral vibration test activities –Before tear-down of fixtures used for the axial vibration test activities, the LAT Instrument must be temporarily stored on the slip table of the adjacent vibration table (Ling B335/Kimball) or on the LAT support stand. Issues –Need to fit-check LAT Test Interface Plate with slip table and expander head

High Bay Operations9 GLAST LAT ProjectMarch 2005 EMI/EMC Test Location – Building A-59 –EMI/EMC Test Chamber GSE Requirements –LAT Dust Tent (SLAC) –LAT Grid Perimeter Ring (SLAC) –LAT Transport Cart (SLAC) –LAT Test Interface Plate (SLAC) –GN2 source (NRL) –Personnel Platforms (NRL and SLAC) Mechanical Configuration –LAT Instrument with Radiators –LAT Instrument will be oriented with the Z-Axis horizontal (+X up) throughout this test Electrical Configuration –EGSE required for Comprehensive and Limited Performance Testing –EGSE is stationed inside EMI test control room

High Bay Operations10 GLAST LAT ProjectMarch 2005 EMI/EMC Test - continued Test Facility – Layout

High Bay Operations11 GLAST LAT ProjectMarch 2005 EMI/EMC Test - continued Potential Obstacles –½ inch lip at entrance to EMI/EMC test chamber door Facility-Specific Issues –LAT Instrument must be protected from dust and particles during test Issues –Need to decide how to overcome height of lip at the entrance to the EMI/EMC test area (ramp or offset wheels) and verify method with pathfinder activity –Need to verify the load capacity of the bridge spanning the tracks between the LAT Area and the EMI/EMC Test Chamber

High Bay Operations12 GLAST LAT ProjectMarch 2005 Acoustic Test Location – Building A-59 –Acoustic Test Chamber GSE Requirements –LAT Dust Tent (SLAC) –LAT Grid Perimeter Ring (SLAC) –LAT Transport Cart (SLAC) –LAT Test Interface Plate (SLAC) –GN2 source (NRL) –Personnel Platforms (NRL and SLAC) Mechanical Configuration –LAT Instrument with Radiators –LAT Instrument will be oriented with the Z-Axis vertical (+Z up) throughout this test Electrical Configuration –EGSE required for Limited Performance Testing –EGSE is stationed outside of Acoustic Chamber

High Bay Operations13 GLAST LAT ProjectMarch 2005 Acoustic Test - continued Acoustic Test - continued Test Facility – Layout

High Bay Operations14 GLAST LAT ProjectMarch 2005 Acoustic Test - continued Potential Obstacles –¼ inch lip seal on floor at entrance to Acoustic Chamber door Facility-Specific Issues –LAT Instrument must be protected from dust and particles during test Issues –Need to decide how to overcome height of lip at the entrance to the Acoustic Chamber (ramp or offset wheels) and verify method with pathfinder activity
