2 What is osteoporosis? Osteoporosis is an illness that can happen in your bones when you get older. Osteoporosis happens to more women than men. If you have osteoporosis your bones become thinner and weaker. They become full of small holes, like a Crunchie! Osteoporosis can mean your bones can break more easily. You might have to take tablets for your osteoporosis.
