3 Post Secondary Scholarship $5,000 Four (4) recipients 15 March deadline for clubs to submit nominee to District Scholarship Committee Chair Global Grant Scholarship $30,000 One recipient 1 December deadline for clubs to submit nominee to District Scholarship Committee Chair DISTRICT 7620 SCHOLARSHIPS

4  Club must make a donation to the Annual Programs Fund (Every Rotarian, Every Year)  Club must make a donation to the PolioPlus Program  The club president and president-elect must read, sign, and submit the club memorandum of understanding to their district and agree to follow its requirements. Note that the club MOU is a binding agreement between the club and its district.

5 POST SECONDARY SCHOLARSHIPS  Late Nov. – Mid Feb.: Individual clubs promote scholarships to local high schools and/or colleges  15 Feb. – 15 March: Rotary Clubs review applicants and interview candidates  15 March: Deadline for individual clubs to meet Rotary eligibility requirements AND to submit a letter of sponsorship and completed application packet to Tracey Heibel, District Scholarship Committee Chair, traceyheibel@gmail.com. Incomplete scholarship packets will not be considered for further review.traceyheibel@gmail.com

6 POST SECONDARY SCHOLARSHIPS  15 March – early April: Scholarship nominees will be contacted by the District Scholarship Committee and invited to interview if selected as a finalist  13 April 2013: Finalists interview day  1 May: Scholarship recipients notified of their scholarship by the District Scholarship Committee  October: Scholarship funds sent to academic institutions where recipients are enrolled

7 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PACKET  Completed application form (www.Rotary7620.org > Scholarships)www.Rotary7620.org  Essay explaining educational objectives  Resume/summary of extracurricular activities  Official high school or college transcript  Copy of any test scores (ACT, SAT, TOEFL)  Copies of any college acceptance letters  Letter of sponsorship from your club

10 GLOBAL GRANT SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship for a minimum of $30,000 will be awarded for one to four years to pursue a graduate school program abroad and support Rotary goals in one of the six areas below:  Basic Education and Literacy  Disease Prevention and Treatment  Economic and Community Development  Maternal and Child Health  Peace and Conflict Resolution  Water and Sanitation

11 GLOBAL GRANT SCHOLARSHIP  31 October: Students submit completed applications and supporting documents to a qualified Rotary Club in our district  November: Clubs review applicants, interview students and select their nominee  1 December: Deadline for individual clubs to submit a letter of sponsorship and completed application packet to Tracey Heibel, District Scholarship Committee Chair, traceyheibel@gmail.com. 12 GLOBAL GRANT SCHOLARSHIP  January: Applicants interviewed by District Scholarship Committee, finalists and alternates are selected and notified  1 May: Scholar must be accepted by his/her graduate program and accept the scholarship to begin RI approval and funding. The confirmed Scholar will be proposed to the International Host Club and to Rotary International for evaluation and funding ninety days before travel is to begin.

15  Salmaa Elshanshory  Studying at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland  Will earn a Master's degree in International Affairs with a focus on Conflict Resolution  Aspires to begin field work in the area of conflict resolution in the Middle East upon completion of this degree.
