2. What are the requirements? You must read a fiction and non-fiction book. You must complete a book project on the fiction book. You must keep a reading log on the non-fiction book and there must be a strong connection to your upcoming science fair project or your NHD (National History Day) project evident on the log. You must read 30 minutes a day and turn your reading logs into the JCPL for prizes.

3. What gets a grade? Your book project And your reading log for your non-fiction book  It is important that your non-fiction book has a strong connection to your science fair project idea or your NHD project idea for next school year. See the Summer Reading Program booklet for more details. Everything connects like these hearts…reading, science, history.

4. BOOK PROJECTS Choose from five projects: 1. A work of art 2. A PowerPoint book 3. A memory box 4. Dear Diary 5. Alphabet Book (Directions & scoring guides will be on the school website.)

10. What happened in the Summer of 2014? Kentucky was number one in the nation for Summer 2014 in pledges to read. Let’s do it again for this Summer 2015! The Summer Reading themes for most of the state’s public libraries this year are “Every Hero Has a Story” (children) and “Unmask!” (teens). Be sure to check out JCPL this summer.
