2 TrekView Tag Basics

3 TrekView Desktop Reader (DTR)
Once the desktop reader is connected to a PC and TrekView software is open, hold the tag within 2 inches of the snowflake on the DTR. Be sure that the desktop reader is not near or on any metal objects (file cabinets, etc.) as this will cause interference. The Desktop Reader plugs into your PC with a USB “B” to USB cord. It must be plugged into a PC running TrekView software to read and download tag data.

4 TrekView Handheld Reader (HHR)
The HHR must be in the “L” shape shown below, and the grey bulls-eye must be within 5 inches of a tag in order to read the tag data. The HHR features a touchscreen user interface The HHR plugs into your PC with a mini USB to USB cord. The HHR features an SD card slot to store tag data.

Shortcut Toolbar – allows you to read / configure tags and export reports HHR Icon – available when handheld reader connected Tag Tree – displays tags ID when tag connected / scanned New Work Session Open Save Export PDF Export CSV Tag Mode Configure Tag Tag Name Current Tag Temp Download Log Snyc HHR Connect Icons – show if tag / reader has been connected

Select Configure Tag Icon

8 Tag Setup Use default setting, a custom setting previously created, or click add button to create a new custom setting Click the configure button to transfer a setup to a tag

9 Build a New Configuration
Ascending thresholds (red) Descending thresholds (blue) Threshold conditions Temperature Time Single or Cumulative LED Status (solid, blink, none) Add / remove thresholds Logging interval Sets max logging time Max tracking time ALWAYS 1095 days (3 years) Soaking countdown Time delay before start

Overview of Tag Data LRT (last recorded temp) MKT (mean kinetic temperature) Min / Max Temperature Status – Check or Ok

12 Rollover Icon Use mouse to roll over the curve and get specific time / temperature information

13 Histogram Tab Histogram of Data – rollover bars to see time in each temperature bin

14 Pie Chart Tab

15 Excursion Tab

16 Info Tab Check battery life and use count

17 History Tab Displays a history of tag scans

18 Tag Alerts Alerts user if tag has been damaged or compromised
