4 Qualitative Physical Properties Qualitative Property – characteristic that can be described not measured.  i.e. colour, smell, texture.

5 Quantitative Physical Properties Quantitative Property –property using a measurement.  Weight – 50 kg  Volume – 100 mL  Melting point - 0ºC  Boiling point - 100ºC  Freezing point - 0ºC  Density – 1 g/mL

6 2.Chemical Properties  Chemical Properties –behaviour of a substance as it becomes a new substance.  Eg. – Combustibility/Flammability - Reaction with Acid
