1 Staff Development

2 What’s Cooking Your family (group) just inherited a successful restaurant from Chef Charlie, a long lost relative. The only problem: Charlie was very disorganized. The only recipes you have found are on torn strips of paper. You have to make sense of it all and quickly! The restaurant is opening tonight, and you have to have the food ready. 1.Each member of the group will be given part of recipe (an ingredient, instruction, etc.). 2.Your job is to put yourselves in order as quickly as possible. Your recipe must make sense. 3.When your group is done, loudly announce “bon appetite” to signal the end of the game.

3 Jesus and the Apostles Throughout the gospels you see Jesus spending the majority of his time with the apostles. The main reason: he knew his ministry on earth would be short and he needed to prepare the apostles to take over his leadership role when he went to the right hand of the Father. Jesus used many different methods to prepare the apostles for their upcoming leadership responsibilities. E.g. Jesus used many object lessons.

4 In addition to using object lessons, list three other ways that Jesus developed the apostles. 1.________________________________________________________ 2.________________________________________________________ 3.________________________________________________________ In what similar ways have you been developed?
