12 Service Learning Presidential Scholars will be required to complete 10 hours of Service Learning every semester. Service Learning is a teaching and learning tool that combines course content with organized community service experiences at local nonprofit organizations. You will learn about the 3 different ways you can engage in Service Learning at EMCC. Individual/Club Placements: Students/Clubs are placed at any of EMCC’s approved agencies. The student/club and agency will determine the goals of the service learning experience, number of hours and duration of the experience. One-Day Events: A one-day experience for students and faculty. This can be held on campus to benefit a specific agency/group of agencies or at the agency site.
