3 TESTING PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE:
The students know Parts of Speech in general and Adjective in particular. A word used with noun to describe or point out, the person, animal, place or thing which the noun names, or to tell the number or quantity, is called an adjective. Students know the (traditional) types of Adjective. i.e. Adjective of Quality: large, nice, honest, foolish, english, round, red, Indian etc. Adjective of Quantity: some, much, little, enough, all, no, any, great, half, whole, sufficient etc. Numeral Adjective etc. few, five, no, all, much, all, some, most, several, first, etc.

4 INTRODUCTION Conventionally we learn the above mentioned types of adjectives (Quantitative, Qualitative etc.). But we commit mistakes when many different types of adjectives are used in a sentence. e.g.‘Mohan had an old nice book.’: What mistake is committed in this sentence? Check out some more sentences. My black new bicycle is stolen.- new black bicycle. Harish bought an old nice Gujarati book. -nice old Gujarati book. I have a red round rubber ball.-round red rubber ball. We often make mistakes in placing adjectives at proper place. So it is necessary to learn the correct order or sequence of the adjectives to be written in a sentence. Let us ldiscuss then about the order of adjectives.
