Grand Connaught Rooms, 61-65 Great Queen St, London WC2B 5DA When is the event? 25 th September 2014 How do I register my attendance? Visit www.apm.org.uk/events for full details and to bookwww.apm.org.uk/events Female project professionals are essential to our economic future. The Office for National Statistics say the number of women working in the UK has grown by 26% since 1971 and the Women’s Business Council estimate that greater economic participation by women could add more than 10% to the UK economy by 2030. Baroness Susan Greenfield CBE Susan Greenfield is a neuroscientist, writer, and broadcaster. She has been awarded 30 Honorary Degrees from British and foreign universities and heads a multi-disciplinary research group exploring novel brain mechanisms linked to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. She is a Senior Research Fellow at Lincoln College, Oxford and has co-founded a biotech company developing a novel approach to neurodegenerative disorders. Dame Stephanie Shirley Dame Stephanie Shirley is a successful IT entrepreneur turned ardent philanthropist and workplace revolutionary. Her amazing life story began with her arrival in Britain as a five-year old Kindertransport refugee in 1939. Her early experience of the ‘glass ceiling’ at work encouraged her to set up her own business and in 1962 with £6 she set up FI Group which floated to became Xansa plc, now part of Steria. In 25 years as its Chief Executive she developed it into a leading business technology group, pioneering new work practices and changing the position of professional women (especially in hi-tech) along the way. She went on to create a global business and personal fortune from nothing with the joy and sadness of raising her only son, Giles, who was born severely autistic. Join us at the 2014 National Conference and 21 st Anniversary of Women in Project Management to look at the essential contribution women make to the profession, both now and in the future. Learning from some of the country’s most influential female business leaders and project professionals, the conference will provide unique insight into both the secrets to a successful project management career and the future role of women in the profession. Amongst the programme of leading-edge speakers are two inspirational keynotes: In January 2014, she was included in the Debrett’s 500, "a recognition of the most influential and inspiring 500 people in Britain.“ You will have the opportunity to attend personal and professional development workshops and also the opportunity to network with other project professional colleagues from across the industry. During the evening you will have the opportunity to network effectively courtesy of Vanessa Vallely (founder of WeAreTheCity), to share your memorable stories of project management with the Funny Women Players and to enjoy a bowl food supper designed by Executive Chef Franck Siblas.
