Students can learn from watching a video that includes graphics, narration, and/or text. Teachers can create videos to teach and reteach concepts. Upload these videos to your webpage or Edmodo for students to watch again and again.

19 Break (10 minutes) Begin thinking about creating your own digital story. What concepts would a digital story help you teach better? Use the storyboards to help you plan your story.

20 Movie Maker Movie Maker is a video creator application for use with a Windows operating system. Users can create and edit movies and digital slide shows with still pictures. Add audio (music, narration), text, transitions, effects, etc. to customize your video. Themes make your video look professional.

23 Tools and Tips Movie Maker Digital Camera
Microphone (to record narration) Create and name a folder on your computer or flash drive where you can save all of your media content for your project before beginning. Don’t forget to save your project throughout your work.

25 Importing Videos and Photos
To import videos or photos, click “Add videos and photos” located under the “Home” tab. You will navigate to the files you want to import and click all of the photos or videos. Now, your photos and videos should be displayed in the Movie Maker. it?usp=sharing

26 Putting It Together By simply dragging and dropping, you can reorganize the order of your content. By clicking on a photo and pressing “delete” or clicking “remove,” you can delete a photo from the storyboard.

27 Adding Text Add titles, captions, or credits from the “Home” tab.
Titles are inserted before the selected item. Captions are displayed over the selected item. Credits are added at the end of the video.

28 Effects and Transitions
Use effects to enhance specific images, clips, or text. Use transitions between clips or images.

Add your own music file or find music online using Movie Maker’s choices for online music archives.

30 Working with Video Clips
Import videos the same way you import pictures. Movie Maker allows the user to split, trim, and manipulate the sound on the videos. You can add transitions and effects to videos.

31 Saving Your Movie Throughout the process of creating your movie, you will want to save your project. This will save a file that can only be opened using Movie Maker. Once you have completed your movie, you will need to click “Save Movie.” This will create a movie file that will you can play and publish.
