3. William Cameron Townsend (Tribal) Began Wycliffe Bible Translators, the largest independent Protestant missions organization. Began a missionary movement to present the Gospel to “unreached people”. “The greatest missionary is the Bible in the mother tongue. It never needs a furlough, is never considered a foreigner.”

4. William Carey (Hindu) William Carey is known as “The Father of the Modern Protestant Missions Movement. “Attempt great things for God. Expect great things from God.”

5. Hudson Taylor (Unreligious – Chinese) Began a missionary movement to reach inland with the Gospel. Began “faith missions”. “God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply.”

6. William Borden (Muslim) Found true riches in giving to spread the Gospel worldwide. His life inspired many to join the Student Volunteer (Missionary) Movement in the early 1900’s. Wrote in his Bible, “No regrets.”

7. Adoniram Judson (Buddhist) Known as “The Father of American Missions”. Went to Burma in 1812 to work with William Carey’s son, Felix. “The prospects are as bright as the promises of God.”
