Objectives Review Effective Time Management Strategies and Resources Practice Scheduling Using Time Management Template

No longer plan events a day at a time…. Begin with Monthly calendar Move to Weekly calendar Move to Daily schedule

Monthly Calendars Write down major ‘life events’ (birthdays, etc) between now and mid-term Now include dates of examinations, class projects, etc. Other events such as workout schedules should be included

Weekly/Daily Calendar Block out class time Block out travel time SLEEP Activities that you must do to be happy (example: organizations or exercise)

Weekly/Daily Calendar Build in time for ‘Spaced Review’ (see Resource Documents) at: http://www.nursing.arizona.edu/AcademicSt udentSupport.htm http://www.nursing.arizona.edu/AcademicSt udentSupport.htm 30 minutes before each lecture to prepare time after to review lecture (at least an hour for each lecture shortly after lecture)

Weekly/Daily Calendar Each weekend- an hour for each lecture to synthesize what you have learned do a cumulative review for each course (you should build this review each week so you review week 1, then 1 & 2, then 1 & 2 & 3 and so on…..)

Prepare for Exams If you have done ‘Spaced Review’ and Time Management you should succeed on exams with: a quick review of terms, diagrams and tables be able to pick up detail You know this material!
