In Canada the extent of the poverty is huge! In 2004 the population that was living on the streets dropped to a 4.9% 2009 an estimated 148,000 families are living in poverty if not more 73,000 of that are children and 34,000 of whom are below the age of 6

The main causes in Canada are: Job loses Low income Redundancies Mental illnesses

The programs that they are using to reduce poverty is: Seniors benefits (e.g., pensions) Child and family benefits Employment-related benefits Minimum wage regulations

The programs that they will be using to help support the poor are: Employment training Community economic development Early childhood care and education Home and nurse visiting

There are many way that the Canadian government is trying to minimise poverty. It is hard to say how much it is working but as show it is clear that whatever they are doing helps immensely.

Right the Canadian government has come up with multiple ways of trying to minimise poverty include: A strong economic growth Public education An income ratio tax system A minimum wage laws in all states of Canada.

Further work that could be done to help eradicate poverty are: To make more jobs To have better job benefits Better education People helping the homeless get jobs Medical assistance in hospitals

Additional funding to Canada could help put the ideas into actions. Not only would it get people off the streets but it would help others stay off the street. If poverty was man made, then together we can undo it.
