3 About NACESTI The National Centre for Scientific and Technological Information (NACESTI), under the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), was established on 24 September, 1990 on the basis of merging two organizations: The Central Library on Science and Technology (founded in 1960) and The Central Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (CISTI) (founded in 1972)

4 About NACESTI NACESTI is carrying out following functions:
Act as the central hub in the national network of STI services organizations Carry out STI provision, dissemination & promote S&T achievements; National registration of R&D projects Organize & manage technology markets (Techmart) Act as the National Library for Science and Technology Develop & manage the Vietnam Information for Science & Technology Advance - VISTA Network Develop & manage the Vietnam Research & Education Network (VinaREN) and TEIN2 activities in Vietnam Act as the Primary member of APAN

It is founded in 1010 by King Ly Thai To (Ly Cong Uan), Ly Dynasty The year 2010 will be 1000-year anniversary of the City It is the Capital city of 3 dynasties Now Hanoi is the Capital City of Vietnam A city of rich historical and cultural heritage

Major R&D institutions are located in Hanoi Vietnam Academy of S&T (VAST) Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) Most of largest Universities and colleges are located in Hanoi

12 Meeting rooms Grand Ballroom: can be divided by movable partitions into 3 sections, each connects to a large foyer/exhibition area. At full capacity the Ballroom houses 1200 delegates for meetings and 800 guests for sit down banquet functions. Located right on the 1st floor, Grand Ballroom is easily accessed by 6 guest lifts or 2 escalators and has the ceiling height of 7m.

13 Meeting rooms 7 function rooms with capacities from 70 to 200 guests. These are the best venues for small and medium meetings. Some function rooms can be combined to extend the capacity.

15 Objectives APAN 30 will provide a forum for researchers and practitioners in Asia Pacific region to meet and share knowledge and experience on developing network and application technologies. The Meeting will feature tutorials, presentations and demonstrations covering advanced network technologies and applications
