3 Football is very popular in France. First introduced to the country in 1872 by English sailors. Football is the most watched sport in France. On July 12, 1998, France defeated Brazil 3-0. This win gave led them to win their World Championship.

5 First introduced by the British in 1872. Second most popular game in France. France hosted the 2007 Rugby World Cup. France has been to every Rugby World cup since 1987. 1900 France won the gold medal when Rugby was first introduced to the Olympics.

7 Cycling became popular in 1903 when Le Tour de France was introduced. Le Tour de France is a race that lasts three weeks long. They cyclist bike 2,200 miles across France. The course changes every year but, the finish line is always Paris. Lance Armstrong is at the top of the list with the most titles. He has 7 wins.

9 Formula One racing is the most recent popular race. France hosts one Formula One Race every year. The most popular racer is Alain Prost, he has won 4 F1 races. He represented the teams Ferrari and McLaren.

11 France has 3,000 miles of seashores. Many people windsurf in France. This is because of the constant steady winds that come off the coast. Sailing is also important. Another thing the French do is yachting. The shore line isn't very exciting, there are no coves or palm trees around. It takes place in the South France.
