Table 4.2 SSU & Ohio comparatives This table indicates the comparison between preparatory and freshman level English courses within the state of Ohio. This information was carefully procured from the public resources (University Web Sites) based on current (2010-2011) catalog readings. All the indicated schools use some form of placement testing – frequently COMPASS, ACT, or SAT – and require a score comparable to within a point or two, to determine eligibility into the basic freshman English composition program. All provide at least one course for those students not ready for that placement required course.
